Carlos Beltran, a former professional baseball player, received the SI’s Hope Award in 2017 in recognition for his kindness and generosity.  He has been very vocal about the needs that still exist in Puerto Rico, as a result of Hurricane Maria.  Beltran donated $1.5 million for the aid in Puerto Rico.
