Dikembe Mutombo, former NBA player, is the recipient of numerous humanitarian awards, including the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award and a Presidential Service Award for his work through the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation. An example of his generosity was its 2007 establishment of a modern, 300-bed hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to which Mutombo personally contributed $15 million.
