David Maurice Robinson is a former professional basketball player. For his entire career, he played center for the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association. 

Being an NBA great and all-around good guy, David Robinson became a legend during his era. His work with the Carver Academy is the greatest and most enduring legacy. Robinson and his wife Valerie founded the Carver Academy, an independent school based on Judeo-Christian principles, and gave $9 million to support it. Robinson’s philanthropy is well known. He consistently serves on the boards of several foundations and charities. Robinson received the Stuart Scott ENSPIRE Award from ESPN In 2018, which was the third major humanitarian award of his lifetime.
